Join us on Monday as we host Mini Empire Bakery's grand opening celebration right here at Bluebird. We will be pairing their cup pies with scoops of our ice cream for (that's right) pie a la mode. Come taste their latest menu items, meet the creators and mingle with other pastry enthusiasts. There will also be free drinks from Elysian Brewing because, hey, why not?

We're book-ending the day with promos, and it's all free, free, free.
FRIDAY MORNING: We'll be giving away FREE BREAKFAST SANDWICHES with every purchase, while supplies last. (Last time we did this, supplies lasted for about an hour.) Buy a coffee, juice, or whatever, and the breakfast sandwich is on us. We open at 8am.
FRIDAY EVENING: EmeraldCityEats.com is celebrating their first month in business with a killer deal: FREE BLUEBIRD ICE CREAM CONES! Surf over to their website and print out a certificate for a free cone. What better way to start your weekend than free Bluebird Ice Cream? The event will take place from 6-9 pm. Come after work or after dinner. Note: I want to be clear that there is a 15-cent service charge, but, I mean, I've got more change than that under my couch cushions. Click print, now.

If you've been in the shop lately, you know that we are sponsoring Beard and Stache Fest 2010. The event is a month-long fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting Treehouse and, therefore, foster children.
This Sunday, we will be hosting a brunch as part of the festival, and all are welcome. We will be opening up earlier than normal for you to get coffee and a bagel, donut, breakfast sandwich, or whatever. You could even have ice cream for breakfast. You could have Heartbeets on Valentines Day. Oh the possibilities...

We're thrilled to host the work of Capitol Hill resident Megan Myers this month for a very special Valentines Day themed show. Over 20 new works of acrylic on canvas will be on display, plus a run of limited edition valentines printed by the artist will be for sale.
"Laced with the innocence and nostalgia of a children’s picture book, this body of work explores our bittersweet flights in and out of love and our search for happiness. "
Opening reception is this Thursday 2/11 from 6-8pm as part of Blitz Capitol Hill Art Walk. There will be free refreshment from the Elysian Brewery.
RSVP and invite your friends.

As some of you may know, much beloved Chai House was recently forced out
of their space in Ballard due to a whopping 50% increase in rent. Chai House
was a great little local institution and will be missed. In the meantime, we are
going to provide musical shelter for the musicians of their weekly
open-mic event. Starting tonight, Bluebird will host an open mic
every Thursday unless otherwise noted. Signups start at 7:30 and the
open mic runs from 8-10. The usual folks from Chai House will be
running this event. As the weeks pass, we hope the event will evolve
and take on a life of its own. See the calendar page for more info.
